Sweet surrender

Well, I could be strong and keep my pride
and tell you “wrong, you just lost your tide”.
But I think I’ll forgive you, ‘cant stand this no more;
the truth’s that I need you to bring me back to the shore.

When I watch the moon up in the sky
I wonder if you’re wondering why
would we be alone in the dead of night
when we could turn each others’ world bright.

It’s marvellously odd this thing I’m feeling,
the very thought of you, I find it healing.
My mind flies away when you’re near me,
I shake all over, from my head to my feet.

Could you, please, promise me your love, my dear?
We’ll overcome every trace of sadness and fear.
A smile on your face is what takes me to heaven
but I’d be glad to have you twenty for seven.

Welcome

Hey there, stranger.
I heard you could use some companie.
You don’t seem so happy, sir.
Or maybe that’s just me…?

Though I have no goods or money
(the taxman’s just gone away),
I have a hand to hold out, honey,
and you are welcome to stay.

I’m not wealthy, my dear
but I receive you with open arms.
Life gives us unhappiness and fear
and we all need good smiles and charms.

Come on in, be my guest,
we’ll chat ‘till the rising Sun.
I promise you I’ll do my best;
just, please, put down that gun!

Don’t give up on this adventure,
you can’t win if you don’t fight!
Who knows what tomorrow brings for sure?
Maybe now you’ll find a bright light.

We could help each other, what do you say?
We could share our dreams, the deepest of our fears.
Let’s believe together that there’s always a way,
let’s be the soft tissue for each others’ tears.
